Grill Review: Broil King Baron PRO Series

Well folks, we officially made it through 2020, and we're looking to start 2021 off with a bang. That's why we wanted to introduce you to the Baron PRO series, the newest (well, sort of) series in Broil King's already outstanding lineup.

The Baron series has been around for a few years now, and it's become one of our go-to barbecues ever since we got our hands on it. However, Broil King decided to give it their royal treatment, and add some jaw dropping and mouth watering upgrades to make it a straight up stud. It's the kind of grill you bring home to your parents, the one that your friends whisper "how did they score THAT!"

Ok, enough with the sweet talk, lets get down to business and start dissecting this grill to see what all the hype is about.

Lets start with what you see when you first lay eyes on it, the grill exterior. The original Baron series featured a black lid & door combination, with light grey cart panels and stainless steel shelves. Well, scrap the light grey panels, because the Baron PRO series is now equipped with a blacked out cart.

It looks as slick as John Travolta's hair in a mid 70's musical.

Not only that, but they've beefed up the bottom panel with some heavy duty castors, and a wider base, this way the grill doesn't magically "run away" into your jealous neighbours backyard. Lastly, the stainless steel side shelves now feature a couple "easy lock" tabs, so raising or lowering them is as easier than lowering your expectations of the Leafs come playoff time.

Lastly (for the exterior anyway), the new Baron PRO models now come equipped with control panel lights that light up underneath the knobs. This makes night time grilling a breeze, making it as easy as ever to know what temperature setting you have your unit set to.

We do highly recommend a grill handle light, or beacon light for your grilling surface to make things even easier!

Now on to the juicy stuff, the interior components and the warranty.

Broil King Baron PRO Features

The original Baron series featured cast iron grill grates and a porcelain coated warming rack. What does the new PRO series come with you ask? Well it comes equipped with 8mm stainless steel grills, and a stainless steel warming rack. What's the difference between cast iron and stainless? Click here for one of our previous blogs to run through the benefits of each.

Pair this with their already phenomenal dual tube-in-tube burner system and their stainless steel Flav-R-Wave system, and you've got one loaded cookbox.

Now last, but certainly not least is the new and improved warranty. The original Baron series had a warranty that ranged from 2-10 years depending on the parts (excluding the limited lifetime warranty on the cookbox).

The new Baron PRO series now comes equipped with an absolutely stunning, jaw dropping, 15 year top-to-bottom warranty. That's right, burners - 15 years, stainless grids - 15 years, just about anything you can look and point to on the grill - 15 years (along with the limited lifetime warranty on the cookbox).
